My main work related skills are UNIX system administration
and programming. During the years, this is what I've been
working with. I have also worked with designing web pages
although I haven't really done this (professionally) for
many years. In 1994 I and four friends founded an Internet
company, Informationsvävarna. It later change names to
Idonex and, in early 2000, changed name again to Roxen Internet
Software. Originally we planned to become an Internet
consulting and webdesign company. However over the years the
focus was turned to the webserver that serves you this very
site.
I'm not longer actively involved with Roxen in any
way. Me and a bunch of other people are working on our own
webserver based on the Roxen 1.3 code base. It's called
Caudium and you can read more about it on our website. I currently
work as a senior Internet programmer at Real Networks, where
I write Caudium / Roxen modules other things used internally
or on the public websites. Please note that don't work with
any of the software products Real Networks is selling.

I'm a computer power user by heart (some call it a
nerd). This means that most of my hobbies involve
computers. Programming and website hacking (see my projects page for more info about my
software and website projects) are my main activities.

-
I spend a significant amount of time playing games. Since
my current operating system of choice is Linux (I don't
even have a working Windows install at this time), game
choices has traditionally been limited to freeware games
or Quake. Thanks to Loki Entertainment
Software I now have plenty of games to play under
Linux. My current favorites are SMAC, Railroad Tycoon 2
and Soldier of Fortune.

I am a huge fan of anime - Japanese cartoons. On my projects page you can see that I
spend a lot of times working on my anime related
websites. I also watch a lot of anime - recently I have
started collecting DVDs. My collection is still not very
impressive, but I'm working on it! Favorite series include
Ah! My Goddess, Lain, Cowboy Bebop, Escaflowne, Akira and
Ghost in the Shell. Of course thats just a small selection
of series I like but it should give you an idea of what I
like.

-
Of course I don't just watch anime - I also watch ordinary
(and sometimes less ordinary) movies. Me and my wife sees
most of the movies that come out in the theatres and
generally at least enjoy most. I have a very broad taste
in movies, but I still have some favorites.
Movies I loved include, but is not limited to: the
Alien trilogy (I pretend the fourth movie didn't exist),
Highlander, Warlock, the Predator movies, the Terminator,
Metropolis (the enhanced version) and X-Men. My all time
favorite movie is probably The Matrix. It's an
absolutely brilliant movie. I think the fact that I knew
_nothing_ about the scope of the movie before seeing it
was also a nice touch. Normally by the time the movie is
released, you know half the story and have seen all the
great scenes (todays advertising spoil many movies).
Favorite actors are among others: Arnold
Schwarzenegger, Sean Connery, Sarah Michelle Gellar and
Harrison Ford. I could list a lot more actors here, but I
think you get the point.

-
There are a number of TV-shows I watch on a regular basis,
like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, ER, Friends, The X-Files,
Pretender and Profiler. My favorite ex-TV-show is Babylon
5. Even though I do watch a number of shows, I am not a
TV-fanatic. I tend to avoid watching to shows I don't
have to see, since I simply don't have all that
time to waste.

-
This is not really a hobby - I rarely just sit listening
to music - but it's a large part of me. My favorite type
of music is Techno, Trance, Industry and similar
genres. Example artists would be The Prodigy, U96, Moby
and Rammstein. This is not the only thing I like
though. Example of other groups I like are Enigma, Deep
Forest and Enya. As you can see my taste in music is very
broad taste in music, although I tend to prefer the harder
stuff. Music I strongly dislike includes country,
Swedish dansbandsmusik, jazz, rap and hip hop. I can
listen to, but most of the time don't like, ordinary
popular music. I think the main problem here is that most
radio stations play the same songs too many times.

-
I'm an avid reader - most of the books I read are fiction,
mainly Science Fiction and Fantasy. Some authors that
comes to mind are Larry Niven, David Eddings, Terry
Pratchett and Raymond E. Feist. I read books by many other
authors too, of course, but the above are my favorite
ones.
Well, that's all there is to read about
me right now. Planned additions include, among other things,
an introduction to my family. So long and thanks for all the
fish.
